Seat cover for 1987 lt4wd?
#1
Where can I find a seat cover for a 1987 lt4wd? All I have found is 1988-1998, however I'm told that these will fit a 1987 also. Anyone know if this is true? The explanation was that a 1987 is an early released 1988-model, but I don't quite believe that..

The Suzuki LT4WD's from the first 250 all the way up to the LT4WD 300 KQ's had the same seat , that's one of the thing's i didn't like about the Suzuki LT4WD's seat it was to narrow for anybody that weighed under 98 lbs. , and it was to firm for my cousin who only weighed 100 lbs. when riding in the mountain here in the Northwest Ga Rocky Mountain's where we rode the most ; when the seat started cracking he used duct tape as a repair untill i added new foam padding and got some leather uphostiery and repaired it for him !
I used a hand riveter tool and drilled small hole's in the plastic on the bottom of the seat , then i shaped the leather to fit the contour's of the seat ; then i used the rivet's in the hole's i drilled in the bottom of the seat !
It made the little LT4WD 300 KQ ride like a Caddie compared to the VW Beatle ride of the O.E.M. seat that came on it when he bought it new , and so far it's lasted 18 yrs. without a single crack in the leather compared to 4 yrs. of the original one that came on the Quad when it was new ; you can get a new seat cover on ebay for as little as $20 to $30 buck's but if i was you i would redo the seat like i did you'll get the ride of a Caddie and it will last forever if you use Armor All , Son Of A Gun or saddle soap to keep it conditioned !
I hope this help's you out , and you at least consider this option you could even get it done by a professional UpHostiery shop for less than the price of a new seat ; and still have the Caddie ride that will last as long as your Quad does and that's saying alot for the bullit proff Reliabity of these fine Suzuki Quad's !.......

If your plastic and foam is good you could recover it yourself. I buy a square yard of material. It is the least amount they sell and staple it on. A manual or electric stapler will work. Warm the material in front of a heater or use a blow dryer to make it streach easier. If you use a softer material you can pull all the wrinkles out and make the curves with a stiffer material you might have to make a pleat at the back corners.
