How can I power up my Lt80?

Hi,
I got some good tips years back on this forum, and I'll share some with you. A pipe is a good start,I also went with aftermarket reeds, the stock metal ones limit the fuel intake a little. I also opened up the reed cage, it tapers a lot, I made it more even end to end. A good aftermarket air filter helps, after all those mods, I ended up 5 sizes bigger on the main to handle all the extra air flow. The front clutch can be modded for better launch and power band, just take it apart and remove every other weight in the slide, leaving a triangle of weights, this increases the engagement and really makes it take off! Make sure the back clutch is clean and able to move completely in and out for maximum grip and upshift.Stiffer springs are also available to keep the power band in the upper rpm's. Hope this helps, it sure made a difference in my son's LT80, too bad he outgrew it last year, but my friend's son is enjoying it now!!
