Rims Stuck on the hub of a Ltr450. Need HElp
My girlfriend has lt450r quad and put sand tires to go to glamis. Now we can not get them off. THe rims that are on there right now are douglas rims. I tired to kick it off, wiggle it, jar buy lifting the back. I put wd40 on the back and front to loosen it. Does anybody have suggestions on how to get these darn rims off.

burn 'em....... get yourself a low heat butane torch and heat things up and bang them off from behind the rim........ use a piece of wood and lay it flat across the rear bead of the rim so when you are hitting it off you don't hurt the rim at all....

wouldnt that weaken em? heating then cooling? wouldnt it make the rim more brittle?

Yea i put wd40 on it last night both side of the rim.</end quote></div>
As Stoopidbot said you don't heat them so much where you will be changing the properties of the metal..... that is why I said a butane torch...... Butane is the same gas in your common cigarette lighter so you are not going to get them hot enough to change the properties even if you tried......
A little heat however will loosen up some salt or other compound that is causing the sticky situation.....
And as others have asked - did the rims go on smooth or were they forced on?
This is odd because the machine does not sound old enough to have built up enough corrosion to effectively glue the rim to the hub. But if it did a small amount of heat will help..... as was said you DO NOT get it glowing red, just get them hot.......
