LT - 250 4WD differentail question
#1
Hello All,
I just got a 96 Suzuki 250 4WD ATV. I'm in the process of going through it and fixing everything I can find wrong with it. I have notice that it will NOT go into the differential lock. My questions is, This there a trick to this or should it just slide into that gear just like changing from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive.
Thanks for your help !!
Ed

The only way you can ingauge the diff lock is in first gear main/trans , and you must have the sub transaxle in super/low ; even then it can be tricky sometimes because of the free play in the 3 speed sub transaxle !
My cousin bought a new 89' Suzuki LT4WD 250 Quadrunner in Jan. 89 and one week before the "Blizzard Of 93" he bought a new 93' Suzuki LT4WD 300 KQ , and both of these quads were like this from day one ; but they will last forever i bought the 300 KQ from his youngest brother in late 99' after his death and i kept it untill Feb. 2006 when i sold it to my youngest broher !
The 93' 300 KQ still runs and rides as good as it did when new , you just have to get use to shifting these quads it was hard for my cousin ; but i was a truck driver and was use to shifting big rigs so it wasn't a problem for me !
Good luck and enjoy your quad , and welcome to the forums ewalden444 !.......
