Default Eiger 4 wheeldrive lever

So i was havin fun in the snow when i switched to 4 wheel it worked but when i went to take it out the lever just spins freely. So i took apart the thing and there is a little PLASTIC piece that broke! Its the piece that pulls on the cable. Ive found the whole assembly for $90 but i want just the little plastic piece or maybe something like a metal replacement thats stronger. lol Would it be worth it to even call the dealership? Can anyone help?
and btw its an 2005 Suzuki 400 eiger

Did you try out BikeBandit....you can typically buy individual parts from there...and they have the schematics to make it easy to identify which part you need so you don't have to deal with explaining it to a dealer.

Yeah went there first lol i can get the whole lever but not the plastic thing!
When i go into 2 wheel does the cable get held up or does it just pull it once to change between 2 and 4?

I'm not totally sure, but I'm assuming that the natural position is in 2wd, probably held in place via a spring, then the lever pulls it into 4wd. Once you release to 2wd, the spring will bring it back into 2wd and hold it there. Not sure if this is what you are asking, and I honestly have never looked at how the mechanism works at the engine.

Suzuki only sells the whole unit - for that $90 price. When the cam breaks, the bike defaults into 4wd mode - it will not go back into 2wd until you fix it. I'm pretty sure that the replacement is a metal piece, not the plastic - mine went out a few years ago and I *think* the new unit has a metal cam in it.

i got it into 2 wheel by removing it from the bars and unscrewing it from the cable, it seems to work pretty well
