Also i was reading up on the 87's with the head 6 bolts how common is the leak? Is there any fix besides getting different jug and head? Can it be avoided by just replacing the head gasket once a season? thanks in advanced [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

i just helped my buddy rebuild his. so hes been doing as lot of reading up on these bikes. from what i here the 250r was the better made/built bike than the 500. but the 500 is still a sweet machine. another friend of mine ownes a 500. he had a 250r, and said he would rather still have it... i dont own neithr, but have been on both, from my experience you cant go wrong with either one.

Name one other bike that with an 18 year old 100% STOCK motor NEVER been opened up that will go a GPS verified 103 MPH on gasoline w/knobbies, on dirt w/nothing but a Q-pipe, reeds, gearing, cut plastic, w/the stock sized 38mm carb.
