LTZ 90 SUCKS!
#1
i have a ltz 90. i am beginner, im 13 and it was my first quad.. But it sucks. sometimes when i try to turn it on it doest even start. Also when i am riding then stop it stalls.. and sometimes i have to put the choke on start it up then turn it back off. And it doesn't have reverse which is really bad because i ride trails and i sometimes get stuck. Finally it has no shocks. i am riding over routs of trees and im bouncing all over the place, while my friend who has a polaris 90 and is cursing over them not even trying.
i had to get that of my chest... now im getting a 250 soon. probably a honda trx 250..
feel free to comment!

dude DONT get the honda!!! it is THE SLOWEST 250 known to man, except for those chinese bikes.
the zuki ltz250 is a nice machine, and you might even want to look at used bikes, such as the suzuki lt230, honda 250X (NOT ex!), kawasaki mojave, etc.

the ltz250 is a pretty dam nice trail bike, and being full manual makes it more fun. my friend has one and i gotta say its probably the fastest new 250 out there. The suspension seems to be LONG travel as far as 250's go, and being suzuki it will probably last forever. the craptor 250 looks pretty but it doesnt have reverse, which just ruins the whole package.
honda's are said to be reliable and all... but all i've has is bad expiriences with them.

You should get your Z90 checked because I've heard they're very nice quads. If you wanted reverse, you should have done some research before hand with you parents. But seriously, if you're having that many problems with your Z90 and you got it new from a dealer, you should bring it in and they should look at it under warranty.
And actually the Z-250 isn't a fully manual, its a 5-speed with an auto clutch. The Honda 250 has a neat sport clutch where you can clutch if you want but don't have to, and the Raptor 250 is fully manual. The both the Z and the 250X have reverse, the Raptor doesn't.
But hey, be grateful you even have a quad! My first quad was a 90cc Yerf-Dog and it was a total piece of junk. I could bottom out the rear suspension just by sitting down on it hard and I am by no means a big guy! Back then I was around 160lb or so!!

The 250x/300ex are fine machines and get my vote.
The zuki is a good machine also.
I understand your disappointment but it's like buying a Yugo and wondering why it doesn't perform like a Cadillac.
What ya need reverse for, you just pick it up and turn it. LMAO

Think I'd take the 250ex over the ltz250. Just don't think the shaft drive makes for a sporty ride. Smooth, but not sure it could handle any bigger jumps as well as the Honda.
Of course, if it's bigger jumps you want, a bigger (300-400) quad would be better.

First, I hate kids that complain about quads that wont do this or that, dont have this or that and have no finacial input into buying the quad. You might have contributed to the purchase and thats great but maybe some research on your part may have helped. NEWS FLASH The LTZ90 was not made for 13 year olds that want to rip, race and jump without some mods. I bought my 9 year old one and was not suprized nor dissapointed with the performance of the machine. I knew what I was getting. It now has different wheels, tires and shocks and he jumps whatever her wants. On a side note before all these upgrades I didnt hear one complaint about it not being good enough, he was happy to have one. Guess what he does when he gets stuck, he gets off and picks up the rear just like the rest of us 80's kids did. Be happy with what you have and stop whining about the machine being junk. Get a job, save some money and get yourself something to make you happy.
On a side note maybe you carb needs to be cleaned, I have had no problems like you are explaining with the running issues. Learn to clean it, it may fix the problem.
