1999 suzuki king quad 300
#1
I have a Suzuki king quad 1999 300 that was sitting outside for 2 years without any plastic on it. I replaced the battery, regulator rectifier and cleaned the carburetor and pit ****. I can get it to run, but I have to use starting fluid. When it is running it idles fine. But when you give it gas, it bogs out. If I feather the throttle, it runs like it is getting gas. But if I hole the throttle steady it acts like it is not getting gas. Also the first section of the exhausted coming from the head, turns red hot after only a few minutes. I thought it might be the exhaust system backed up, but I took it apart and it was unblocked. Any ideas?

Running lean will give you the hot exhaust. Did you completely clean out the fuel system (tank and all fuel lines)? With that long amount of sitting time, you have crappy, gelled fuel everywhere.
