Twin Peaks
Hey guys, has anybody had trouble with a Dynatek CDI on their Twin Peaks?
I have a stock 2004 Twin Peaks, and I put a Dynatek FS cdi on it. It worked fine for a while but after a few hundred kms on the cdi the bike started to bog out at high speeds. After that it would bog out even at low and medium speeds.
I cleaned the filter, burnt a few tanks of gas, changed and gapped the plugs, and it still happened. I put the factory cdi back in and the bike works great again.
I have sent it back to Dynatek for testing, but I haven't heard from them yet.
From what I have read, I shouldn't have to jet it but maybe I do. It just seems funny that it would work great for a few runs and then work like crap.

I have one in my 04 since January 2004. It has a couple thousand miles on it now, still runs great. That is not to say yours is not malfunctioning, just that I have had 3 of them, one on a 2002 KP650, and 2 on 2004 STP700s models. I think there products are good quality products, but I am sure they can will break like any other part of a machine. Keep us posted on what you find out.
