Default 07 Suzuki Vinson wont turn over

I have a 2007 suzuki vinson 500 4x4 semi-automatic. It is completely stock except for the tires. I went mudding last night and within 1 hour it backfired 3 or 4 times which it has never done. Then we went back to the mud bog but it wouldnt make it because the ice was so thick so I backed out of the bog and it backfired again. When I tried to restart it the display screen went blank there is nothing on it now. When I turn the key on the lights will come on and the display light will come on but none of the other stuff on the display does. I made sure it was in neutral and it was. When you press the start button you get nothing even when the keys on and I push my winch buttons nothing happens. I have not torn anything apart yet but I did put the air cleaner box and it was spotless no dirt no gas no water no anything. If you have any ideas please let me know what you think. Any help would be great since I have no idea where I need to start. I do not want to take it to the local shop. I was lazy for the first service and let them doit and did not get it back for 3 1/2 weeks. thanks

Check the fuses under the seat first.

You were right it was the ingition/power fuse I believe it was a 15. I replaced it and was riding on sunday and realized that my overheating light was on but kept fading in and out I tried to make it back to the house before it stayed on but the fuse blew again and it shut off. Do you know if this is a safety type thing or what. Also after every ride I spray down my 4wheeler and make sure to get the radiator very good. So it is clean. It seems to overheat an awful lot though any ideas?

Water has gotten in some where. Most likely it will eventually dry out. Several years ago I parked my Vinson in the creek and turned it off and stayed there for about 15 minutes about mid motor deep. When I left I got just a little ways and blew the ignition fuse. It done it in threes for the next two or three weeks. It eventually quit and I never pinpointed the problem but I haven't had a problem since and I cross creeks fairly often.

Make sure your radiator is free from mud. You may need to pull it out and clean it. You can't see all the mud on the back side when it's in the quad. When I had my Vinson I had to take it out twice a year to clean it. Was the fan running when the light was blinking? If not check to see if it spins by hand freely. There is a sensor in the radiator that controls it. Unplug the fan and use some jumpers from the battery to test it. If it comes on the sensor is bad.
