Default Synthetic winch line

I have a Warn RT 2500 and I want to change it over to synthetic rope, and I am wondering if you need to use 3/16 or 1/4 '' or can you use either size. What do you guys use on yours? Also I am ordering a short piece for snow plowing. Let me know what you think?

It is made for the 3/16". You can get the 1/4" on there with a little extra work. However, 40 feet is about all of the 1/4" that you want to put on. I got the 1/4" and cut off 10' for a plowing rope. I do like the extra size and strength of the 1/4" rope. I also carry a 50' HD tow rope that I can use in case the 40' on the winch is not long enough to do the job.

Let me know if you get the 1/4" rope... I can give you some advice on how to get in on without much trouble.

I think i will probably go with the 3/16 just because of the extra length. It seems as though when i do need the winch I need every bit of the line. Thanks alot for the fast response DCT.

3/16" works well for 2500 winch. 1/4" is for 4000, 4500 or so.
Check with the rope seller, or read: Synthetic ATV winch line, 3/16"
