I am having trouble getting my atv to run. it has been sitting for a month or so. The battery is dead but it turned over with a jump starter. but i cant keep it running. Anyone have a idea whatr i can do?? Thanks!!

 

What kind of wheeler do you have? How old is it?

 

If it had that ethanol/gas mix that is now common, be careful restarting it. The ethanol from what I understand settles to the bottom causing the machine to run on only it, which is of course bad. I'd try new gas to see if that helps, your carb could also be gummed up and might need a good cleaning.

 

It is a 04, or 05 Vison 500, It was the last year the Vison was made. I tried new gas. It did start up some ran for just a few seconds, and then shut back off

 

sounds like a dirty carb to me. you might drain the carb bowl along with the fuel tank and put FRESH gas along with some stabil or seafoam in it to see if it will clean the carb itself. if ethanal ever seperates (which it doesnt take very long for it to do...a week or two) it will start to attract water. unfortunaly it all settles to the bottom causing problems with motors
