Default 2006 King Quad 700 Dif. Lock?

I want to buy a 2006 King Quad 700 and took it for a test ride yesterday. I put the dif. lock on and when you give it too much throttle it cuts out, like how they do in reverse. Is it suppose to do this? It was in high range, I didn't try it in low range. I asked the guy who is selling it about it, and he said he never really used the lock so he didn't know. I am planning on buying it this afternoon either way, just wondering if there is something wrong with it or not.

Nevermind, I did some research and found out this is a safety feature like it is in reverse, and there is a way to disconnect it if you wanted.

Yep, it sure is a pain. There is also a safety for reverse. Both are a pain but like you said, there are ways to disconnect or push the override button on the left side.
