No acceleration or power

The ATV has about 1100 miles on it. I've had it for about 8 or 9 years and it has always run good and had no problems. Last week I was getting ready to ride it and it started fine but would not accelerate. When I revved the engine it simply popped and cracked and snorted kind of, and occasionally would backfire but would never accelerate and rev up. The engine would not smother out or die. Idle was fine and starting up was normal.
It acted like it was starving for fuel but would not completely die out when I accelerated. I checked the air cleaner and it is new - has less than 100 miles on it...
Finally I pulled the spark plug and noticed it was very black. It wasn't oily, just sooted up or burnt looking. I installed a new NGK plug and everything was fine. It ran great... for 1 day.
It sat overnight. I started it up again the next day and the EXACT same problem occurred. I pulled the plug out and noticed it too looked sooted up but not as bad as the first plug I pulled. The electrode was a little black but the ceramic insulator was still fairly clean. I put the plug in the boot and rested it on the engine to ground it to check the fire and it was very, very weak looking. It wasn't blue at all, but reddish pink with some yellow. So I "assumed" the coil was going bad and I replaced it. I bought an AMR monster coil off of Ebay and installed it last night. It still has the EXACT same problem. It idles fine, it just won't rev up. It never goes dead but has no power.
HELP! Any ideas???

I pulled the main needle, along with the diaphragm/pump thing (not real sure what it is on this carb) yesterday and tried to blow it out but to no avail.
The thing will run and rev up fine for just a few minutes after it sits overnight but then starts acting up again...
