New Z400 owner
#1
First of all hey to everyone on here. This is my first post but I use forums for my other vehicles and have recieved tons of great help from people. Last sat. I bought a 2005 Z400 as my first quad. I have to say its an amazing ride. The only problem is that the thing is too loud. It has "team suzuki" yoshimura exhaust on it and Ive already had the cops called on me twice (same cops that came last summer for my Yamaha R6 noise/speed complaints...my neighbors hate me )
The bike didnt come with the silencer, and I know i need a spark arrestor as well to ride on forest roads. Whats the difference between the 2, do they make a unit that does both? Sorry for the newb question but all my motor experience is with street/track bikes and we deffinitly dont use silencers.
Thanks in advance guys

Welcome! Great choice in a first bike! As far as your spark arrester/silencer goes they are the same thing thoe some aftermarket pipes don come with a spark arrester. You just need to find one that does and put it on your bike. a Good place to look for one is at Rockymountainatv.com Good luck with the new bike!

Does anyone know where to get a silencer for the team suzuki yoshi exhaust? Ive looked but cant find one anywhere... only ones for the RS3 exhaust</end quote></div>
Have you checked the packing? It is possible, that it is louder than it is supposed to be. If the packing in the exhaust is worn out it will be a lot louder than it should be too......I know some Yoshi pipes are loud, but if the packing is burnt they ar deafening.
