Default Fuel in airbox

It has always had a hard time starting and taking off from a low rpm unless I choked it. Been like that since I bought it. I took the carb off and cleaned it up, checked the float and it moves freely. Cleaned all hoses. I put it back together and now when I try to start it, it dumps fuel into the airbox. Other than a sticky float what else could be possible? It's an Eiger Quadrunner.

Is you petcock in the prime position? leaving it there will fill up your crankcase and , or airbox with fuel. I actually saw a 98 500 4x4 catch on fire because of that, at our hunting camp. He just left it on prime overnight and it backfired thru the carb and the rest is history

I actually left it on prime overnight and it dumped all 5 gallons onto the floor of my shed. It's not on prime now though, fuel is still getting in the airbox.
