Default lt230s cracked case :(

here is another pic for your collection justrandy.... bolt that connects magneto cover to case half broke, buy the chain ofcorce!, and cracked the case half. my spair engine is not rebuildable. but i think i can scavenge the cylinder for my running 230 instead of resleeving the origional.

it seems kind of stupid that the owner was too lazy to tighten the dang chain. especially since EVERY junction in the frame has been gusseted to keep it from bending! somebody loved it.

The chain might have been tightened, however if the pivot bearings and or bolt are worn out, it will cause the chain to come off .

I got a root stuck in between the chain and sprocket once because the guard was off and it broke in that same area. Just got a guy at work to weld it up and it worked fine.

That happened to me twice on my 250S. The first was becuase my axel houseing bearings and swing arm bearings were loose. I replaced the axel houseing and added swimg arm spacers because there were none and added bearing cuz there was only 1!! I did this and bought a new case for $90 i found used. Then it happened again because the swimgarm had a chunk missing moving the bearings loose. The time it stayed in one peice instead of breaking. I had a guy i know weld it up good as new and I bought a used swing arm $105 used. and the whole thing is history.
