Default Rear shock

Hopefully someone can answer my question. Ive got an 87 lt250R with a bad rear shock, i was wondering if anyone out there knew how close the newer 450R rear shock was to fitting. Id be happy to do some fabrication if its close. Anyone know how close they are to fitting or know where i can find out? Thanks

hey and welcome to the forum!

im pretty sure the 450r shock is gonna be pretty different, since the 250r uses that big rocker-style full floater system, while the 450's use the honda style with that little triangular linkage block at the bottom. so even if the shocks were the same length, im sure the spring rates would be way different.

why not just get it rebuilt? the '87 is an EXCELLENT rear unit with good adjustability.
