Suzuki King Quad 300 Problems (2000)
#1
First i want to say i love this 4 wheeler, its a great machine! But about a week ago i was riding it and it kinda died. it would only run at about half throttle but it had power. i was able to ride it home( about an eighth of a mile away). and then it shut off. i can't figure it out. it has good compression and it has good spark. i took the carb off and theirs wasn't anything debris and everything looks good. i kinda ruled out carb problems, i think it is something electrical. rt now all it does is kick like it wants to start, i took off the voltage regulater and it has a burn't crack in the back so i have one comming but im not satisfied thats the problem. i was told that if the voltage reg is putting out to much voltage it will shut the cdi box down???(idk to much about the electrical conponents) but with the voltage reg unpluged it does the same thing (only kicks but wolt start)(has spark). i was in water when it started acting up(but i don't think it has anything to do with it. I mud all the time and go through water often and i haven't ever had a problem. so with it getting gas and air( tryed to start it with the air filter off) has good compression, has spark i cant figure out y it wolt run. has exhaust pressure when chanking so i don't think its an internal problem. is their any other electrical sensors or anything i need to look at??? im kinda lost please help!!!

its not the voltage reg, it does the same thing when its pluged in or not. i went through the carb again and nothing. then i decieded to try another plug and i had one that was one size hotter and this changes the conditions somehow. with and only with the other plug it will run at idle speed no matter how much throttle i give it. but i needs to have throttle to run or it dies and it dies speraticly. all and all i let it idle 10-15 min yesterday and it sounded fine but it doesn't let it rev out at all just. i hope this helps i really need help. Im thinking its the cdi but i don't want to spend $200 to find out the hard way. please anybodys 2 cents will help maybe im overlooking something simple...

yes! definatley check that out... sometimes those things get old and dry, and end up cracking. the "CV" type carb is very vacuum sensitive and it doesn't take much to mess it up.

Gas-what kind of idiot doesn't check the gas lol Well i gave up and sent it to the shop. Somehow it jumped out of time. The mechanic said he's never seen one jump out of time before and doesn't know how or why it did it.Their wasn't anything broke or worn! But thats what happened! So $300 dollars later it runs perfectly again. its been running for the last 3 months trouble free. Thanks to all that tryed to help, hope this gives someone else something to check when their KQ dies on them
