Just picked up a LT230...it has the original headlight and taillight...the left controls work the headlight great no problems there....

Problem is the previous owner put on a thumb throttle off another bike...its causing it to idle low/high depending on how it feels that day.

Now I am looking at the parts diagram...what the thumb throttle with the switch for? What does that operate?

Also does (2) contain the whole thumbthrottle like (3) or not. I figure no...

on mine it controls the light but if everythings working fine, id leave it be. if its just idoling high then adjust it on your carb.

 

Well whats wrong is the thumb housing that is on there now is pulling the cord or letting it slide down into the housing. Hense ideling high or low.

So I would like to put the correct one back on, but I don't know what I need. Right now the rear light is broke so...well basicaly I just want to know what the turn **** controls?

Did lt230s that came with the left light control not have the right light control?

O and when I said another bike I dont mean anothers LT230... I have no idea what its off of.

 

mine has one on the left my dim and bright and on the right was like on the one in the image shown above. look on bikebandit.com for that part or on ebay you may need a throttle cable too depending if it a suzuki 230 one or one that came with your throttle housing.

 

So whats the turn **** on the right do? Num. 2 on the diagram.

 

i wouldnt be able to tell ya the bike im working on was my fathers, he bought it bran new and rolled it when i was younger and it damaged that, atvman or just randy or someone would know and theyll tell you when the come on

Hmmm... I've never seen a switch on the thumb throttle. What application is that diagram from?
