so it bogs and pops in every gear? and with any amount of throttle? but yet it revs up fine? it could still be something within the carb, a spec of dirt somewhere...

hey and welcome to the forum!

sounds to me like youve either got the wrong needle or too rich of a main jet.

Playing with screws won't do anything but adjust the idle. How is the spark plug? Put a new one in first thing before doing anything else. Can't think of how many times I almost tore into carbs, but first tried a new plug and saved myself hours of screwing around. Plugs go bad for no reason, seemingly.

Next, verify air filter and exhaust. Those affect carb tuning.

Next, check valve lash and verify you have decent compression.

If all that checks out, then start monkeying with the carb. I can't imagine why the carb would suddenly need adjusted unless you did something.... Like a new pipe or different air filter or took the airbox lid off.

it has a new plug, great compression ,timing checks out,,,plug is black i know that means rich but why, i rebuilt the carb with a stock rebuild kit,,i bought the machine as is with the carb apart in a box, so i have no idea what was done to it, i saw that they drilled a lot of holes in the air box lid??head gasket?? no matter what i do i still only get 1/4 throttle ,,

ok i found the jet that i took out and yes the one they sent me was to big way to big so i put the jet it calls for (112.5) back in it with the needle,,runs alot better but it still wont open up, if i let it idle and then take off it goes good for 10 seconds and then boggs -no top end, if i dident know any better i would say it is sucking up the gas and the bowl is not filling fast enough, i check and it fills good but kinda hard to tell what it is doing under load, at one point in second gear i just held it and it was acting like it wanted to come out of it but it would not, is the stock jet to small or,

i have, and have tryed to play with it , this is driving me crazy, the atv is tight and i have always wanted a small quad to beat on, i just dont know i would say its a fuel problem but not sure ,i dont know if the firing is off or is the timing of by one tooth or would one tooth make any difference,

One tooth on the cam gear would make a difference depending which way it was off (advance/retarded).
