hey im new here and after doing alot of reading I have come to the conclusion that I am rebuilding my lt2504x4 I just got it and it is smoking real bad but runs otherwise great the guy I got it from said it was just rebuilt profesionaly and shortly after started to smoke I gather im going to have to bore the cylinder have the rod and rod bearings done and buy a piston and rings and a gaskets set but before I open the engine does anyone have an electronic manual for this quad

 

it could just be valve seals or worn valve seats maybe, you can go to bikebandit.com for some diagram pictures otherwise i dont know any online manuals for that bike.

 

reading through this forum quite a few guys say not to even look at the valves go straight to the rod and piston so i was asuming this is a problem for these machines

 

you said it was rebuilt though right? if the rings are bad already then somebody musta messed up lol, or maybe they didnt hone the cylinder or something like that, i just assumed that they did a rebuild and maybe forgot to check the valves out...either way you can check those out to if you tear it down.
