Hi I'm having trouble getting this to run. It has spark I've cleaned out the carb twice and made sure it has good gas. I checked and fixed the cam chain and made it so the cam shaft and the router under the recoil were properly allied so the spark happened when the piston was in the correct position. I'm not sure what else I can look at does anyone have any ideas? When I pull it pops once here and there and then sputters the rest of the time I pull on the recoil.

hey my brothers lt125 had that problem.... all it needed was a new spark plug.... yes i know it has a spark but try getting a BRAND NEW spark plug. if that doesnt work, you may be loosing some voltage... i know on my lt185 one time the spark wire rubbed on the muffler and was arcing and loosing some power. try checking for that, then get a new plug. let me know if it works

 

I bought a brand new spark plug when I got this wheeler cause I just wanted to eliminate that from the equation. The wiring harness looks pretty new I don't see any spot on the wire that is bad and I went through and replaced every wire connector on the thing so I don't believe I'm loosing voltage anywhere.

 

i have an 84' lt 185. i can almost guarentee i know wha your problem is. the exact same problem hapened to mine just last weekend. one day my bike was running fine. i also knew at the time that the exhaust valve seal was shot and always used a tremendous amount of oil which caused very hard starting now and then. on those days wit hard starting problems, i would have my brother get out the sportsman which i would use to drag the 185 behind and pop it into 2nd gear to start it instead of killing my arm. what happened was, from dragging it and everything turning over so quick, it forced my cam chain tensioner in and made my timing jump by only one tooth. this one tooth difference is just enough to make the intake valve tap the piston and bend it soo slightly that it is barely noticeable when looking at it. you can check this by setting youre piston at top dead center and push air into the spark plug hole. when i did this, i threaded an air chuck into the plug hole and connected an air hose to it. you can then hear the air hissing out of the air box or the exhaust pipe depending on which valve is bent. im willing to bet you have a slightly bent intake valve. even with a bent valve, it will still load up with fuel when trying to start it, and once it loads to a certain point, it will fire once as a little poof!!!. in the past 5 years, i have had this problem happen to me 3 times soo far. i just got the parts to fix it on friday, replaced the valve, slammed it all together and it runs like new again.hah btw, i replaced the valve seals too and now it doesnt look like a 2 stroke running.
