Okay guys, I bought two Quadrunner 250's one is like an 87, the other is a 98, I payed 500 for the 98, road it about ...1500 miles? and it used so much oil I couldn't keep oil in it, Then, I tore it apart and about a year or two later (about a month ago) saw one for 50$ (the 87) Well, I decided to buy it (Of course, No chance of it running) The idiots who bought it befor me bored it, and put it all togeather, and forgot to tighten the rocker arm nut, well, as soon as it started, it came off, wound up in the chain, broke the chain, cracked the block and everything, (Wouldn't have bought it if I knew) but anyway, I used the bored jug, and piston and used rings on my motor to see if it would run. Well, sure enough it ran, and smoked just like it did befor. So now that I know it runs, Im gonna invest 60$ in it, for new rings, a sidecover gasket, and a needle seat for the carb. (It wont idle, and floods rather badly.) Whats the difference in the 87 carb and the 98? the 98 looks WAY bigger. and the 87 appears to be a barrel type carb. Anyway, Is it worth fixing? At this point, All gaskets are silicone exept the left sidecover (The high pressure oil hole blew out at the top) None of them leak, exept that one. And it fired up, and revved up fine and everything after priming the fuel system. Just needs rings and possibly valve seats. If anybodys rebuilt one of these, Let me know of any major issues. ALSO: Forgot to mention, I reused the tin headgasket. Is that still alright? Suzuki's rearend in motor design looks complicated, But its really not. lol Oh, I forgot to mention, I rebuilt my honda 300 also. Runs great! Cant wait to race the suzuki and honda. lol
