Default 230s Rear Shock

Stupid question for the experts Why is the rear shock installed the way it is, To me it looks upside down. Every pic and diagram show it the same way.

how is yours? is the threaded portion on top or bottom?

mine was on bottom, so when i installed my rezzied 230E shock (as an upgrade to my original S shock) i did it the same way.

but when i was later looking at some diagrams, i too found that it appears upside down in the microfiche.

Both on mine were threads up. On my build bike i have put the shock on threads down. Dont know why its like that but it always bugged me.

shocks dont actually have a top or bottom. you can mount it threads down if i like. it does make it easier to adjust preload
