Suzuki LT230G won't start
#1
I'm trying to get my 86 LT230G running and need help. I had it idling a little, but it took work and had to be full choke. Give it any gas and it would die.
I'm new to being an atv/motorcycle mechanic but I've worked on cars a little. I just pay attention to how I take things apart. So, I changed the oil and oil filter. Changed the spark plug. Added the missing air filter and replaced the dead battery. After cleaning the carbs of two lawnmowers and fixing them I did the same to my zuk. I just used spray carb cleaner and was very careful. Only a couple of pieces came off so I'm sure I reassembled correctly, at least 99% sure.
It will turn over and over, but won't crank at all now.
One think I thought I'd try was taking the carb apart again and now that my air compressor is fixed I could blow air through the passages and stuff too. I didn't do that last time. Anything I should be leary off. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help.

hey youre on the right track with your next step.
if that doesnt work, you may want to try that carb cleaner that comes in the metal tank. you can soak the carb for a day in that stuff, and it WILL dissolve most anything. just be careful, that stuff is reffered to as "liquid death" for good reason!
and as always, blow out with compressed air when youre done.

oh one last thing, make sure you take off all rubber, plastic, or gasket pieces before soaking! that stuff is BAAAAD and will mess those parts up. as a matter of fact, that stuff is so bad, that at a shop i used to work at, i once forgot about a carb body that i left soaking in there, and a few months later i found it in the tank, almost completley eroded away hahaha
