my quadmaster will not run unless it has the choke on and there is a bad smell coming from exhaust. it is a 2001, it has been setting for a long time. Ii drained the gas out of it,any help would be app. thanks Raybob

 

hey welcome to the forum!

sounds to me like youve got some gum in the carb. id clean it out real good (soak it in carb cleaner) and re-assemble with a new carb rebuild kit.

oh and if youre lucky, you may be able to get away with draining the old gas out of the carb bowl (it has gone bad and wont burn, so it just gets pumped out the exhaust and smells bad) by turning the little screw on the bottom of the bowl and letting it drain for a minute, then MAYBE, if youre lucky, things will be fine.
