Lt250r enigne troubles HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!
#1
Hey everyone,
I recently bought two lt250r's, '86 and '87, and the '86 isn't getting any gas into the carb when the gas switch is set on "on". But, when i set it on "reserve" its gets plenty of gas
. It also doesn't want to start up when on "reserve". I put a new sparkplug on it and it's getting plenty of gas and has compression but it just doesn't want to turn over. Can someone please help.
Also, i was wondering how much refurbishing a rear shock for the '87 would cost or would it just be easier to buy a used one on ebay.
Thanks for all the help guys, its much appreciated.

hey try towing the 86 around on reserve to get it to start.
i have one, and even after i rebuilt it (EVERYTHING was ship-shape), it still had bad days where it just wouldnt start for no good reason (absoloutley unexplainable, and im a mechanic myself). perfect compression, carburation, timing, spark, induction, mixture, plug not fouled, not flooded, etc. just didnt make sense. but then id send her down a big hill in 3rd, get it started, and it would run great, FOR WEEKS ON END! but then came the next random day of no-start.
strange, eh???
oh, and for the "on" position not working, try pulling the fuel valve off (with an empty tank of course haha) and see if theres little filter "socks" in there. one might be clogged.
good luck!
