When Changing brakes on my Z400
#11
Hi guys, I have the same problem, but stil I am unable to squeeze-in the piston a little more, I remove the lever for the emergency brake, but still doesn't want to go back.. I try to unscrew/nut behind the cylinder but is tight like hell. Any tricks on how to back out the screw, I put WD-40 and hope that helps. But let see. Also in the middle of the piston there is like a circle pad that came off, I assume that is to keep dust away from the piston should I glue it back?
Thanks for your help

Ok yeah I know what yur talkin about...that pad thingy was on mine too, I just placed it back on there...was it supposed to be glued, idk either way its not coming out. Ill have to see if I can back that bolt out....I didnt really put a lot of effort into trying to move that bolt but when I was messing around with it, it was pretty tight and just moving the springs back and forth but not loosening up.

Thank you guys for replying; I believe(Hebo) I know which locknut your talking about, It is pretty hard to remove, I finally got ther pads to go in by removing the emergency brake, however When I put the E-brakes back again, The screw compress the piston and locks the tires... I will keep trying, I let you guys know the final outcome.
Thanks again!

Well guys, the final outcome was that I had to remove the parking brake; When I took apart, one piece was broken and I believe, on top of that when I remove the whole pieces, I still can't adjust the screw(bolt). So far I tested the quad whitout parking break and it is breaking ok. I will investigate more to see if it is worth it to replace the parking mecahnism.
Thanks guys again.
