08 KQ 750 just installed 28s! too wide??

Hello, New to the forum here so bear with me a bit.. Got an 08 kingquad 750 had it since last fall finally wore the stock tires down giving me an excuse to buy bigger better tires. I bought 4 28x9x12 Titan 589 MTs I beleieve there the same as the ITP 589s only with more tread design.. Found them on an overstock special from Titan for $30 bucks a piece..only on the one size so i just got all 4 the same.. I didnt figure they would fit on the stock rims (clearance) so i just bought the ITP steel black rims 5+2 offset..got them for $35 a piece..trying to spend little as possible on wheels as i destroyed my stocks in a hurry..i fugured going steel wheels would be more durable, a bit heavier but oh well! only problem im seeing is i think i made the thing a bit too wide.. i can already tell im going to get thrown off a few times, needs a dampner bad! my main concern is eating up the bearings..if you do the math the center of the tire is only 1.5" from the face of the hub (outwards)..which isnt bad..but still worries me a little.. its really wide but should be good for wheeling as i should cut my own ruts now.. if there going to be too hard on the machine (suspension and bearing wise) then i'll probly just sell the set and get some 26s on somthing for the stock wheels.. please let me know what you think! Thanks

i have a 07 kingquad 700, i have aftermarket wheels the stock wheels are a inch taller and a inch narrower then aftermarket wheels, i have a set of bighorn 26x12x12 on the rear and 26x9x12 up front, aftermarket wheels i stick out past the fender wells, the stock wheels i stay inside the fender wells, but nothing like you are in your picture, try the stock wheels, i dont know the width of those tires you are showing. but if there over a 12 on the rear and 9 on the front id get rid of them.

Well i took it out to a buddies place just outside of town to see how it would handle.. didnt ride too bad..tires bite hard!! BUT..you gotta hang on tight or it will rip the bars right out of your hand! needless to say it isnt going to work..i was going about 10-15 and hit a ditch at an angle.. as soon as i dropped in the left side tire grabbed the sidewall and the 4wheeler cranked itself to the left, yanked the bars from my hands, jammed the tire into the fender and about threw me off
..luckily it hit the other bank of the ditch and i was able to use it to my advantage and hang on!! the fronts rubbed just a bit on flat ground, i had all 4 springs at the lowest setting for a softer ride so i cranked them all up and the tires cleared ok. after i got it home i was looking it over and my left side tie-rod is loose..theres lots of play on the inner link
.. the wheels look sweet and everything and the stance is mean! i thought about throwing a steering dampner on it with a 2" lift..figured that would solve all the problems.. but after giving it some thought.. that offset is going to tear the machine up (bearings, balljoints, tie-rod ends, etc)
So ive decided its really not worth the "look". I started to wonder if i could put the 28s on my stock rims..i figured i would give it a try..i actually took some measurements of the new tires both comparing new to old side x side and using a tape..the 28s actually measure 27" with tread
there really not a whole lot bigger than the stock 25s..i dont know if Dunlops run bigger or what but the Titans i got are definatly not 28" tall...oh well they were cheap either way..Im thinking they should fit on my stock wheels..if they dont well i suppose ill try and find some wheels with a more centerd offset.. answered my own question.. thanks guys!

There 28x9x12 they appear the same width as the stock 25x11x12s i got all 4 the same size as they had a special on the one size only..

well i know the 700 has a very upright caster, for the steering from the factory, which means it steers easy, but will jam on you easier, so it has very quick steering, i think your setting was to low i go 2nd from the top on my shock setting to reduce body roll. most everyone i know on the tires runs a wider tire on the back like a 9on the front or a 11 or 12 on the back. i think the higher up im the air you go with lifts and taller tires you will roll easer off camber. i only go with 26,s myself. but id try those 28,s on your stock wheels, the steering is a natural attribute with this model i know a radial tire helps alot on the steering versus a bias tire.
