need help on a 1990 suzuki lt250s
hello I have a 1990 suzuki lt250s 4 wheeler and it needed a set of rings in it so i put some in and now i can't start it could the timing be off or what cause before i put the rings in i had to pull it with my van or another 4 wheeler to get it started then after it warmed up i could kick it to start but it was smoking so thats how i knew it needed a set of rings but i also noticed that the spark is real weak. just need a little help to get it going again. thanks suzuki rider

I recently picked up a lt250s in pieces, as a parts bike. The previous owner was trying to fix a smoking problem but decided to go another way. When I looked into it, it turned out that the some std size rings were put onto a 1mm oversize piston. This caused something like a 1/4 inch ring gap, I don't know how it even ran. Maybe something similar happened with yours.
As far as timing (which is the problem with my own 250s) If you follow the manual it's pretty straight forword. It is a pain though since you have to take off the side case to check it.
Oh yea just wondering, did you take the flywheel off? This is where my problems began...
