Unhappy 2007 KQ 450 problems. need help please

i have had this 4wheeler for about a year now and the belt has broken twice. it was still under the warenty the first time and i got it fixed for free but this time it wont under the warenty and it is way to expinsive to take to the dealer and get it fixed. can anyone send me specific detai;s on how to change the belt. i have already taken the side off and it is ready for the new belt. i was also wondering if the 8 little barrings in the clutch are supposed to be greased? can and will anyone help me?

Default KQ Belt

Wow!
I'm surprized!!

I have had a KQ 450 for three years and I'm still on the same belt... these things do not break (normally).

Before you go ripping the ATV apart - have you tried talking to the dealer?

What was the cause of the first belt breaking?

Is there anything loose or too tight in your KQ?

Any reputable dealer should be willing to look for an answer to unusual wear under a good will warranty - UNLESS you are really abusing the machine... which is VERY HARD TO DO...

Good Luck!

well i know how it broke and i bought it from a used lot... they had a 6 month warenty on it. the guy that owned it be4 me had put home made snorkels on it and didnt fput heat tape on the pvc pipes close 2 the exaust and it had melted and i HAVE to drive through water alot where i live and water and mudd got in the air intake and broke the belt both times. i had jus realized that the pipes had melted and warpted when i took it apart. i have searched everywhere 2 find some1 who would put the real KQ snorkels on and 4 some1 tht was cheap 2 put my belt on but it is just way to exspinsive soo im doing it my self i just need 2 know if the barrings/clutches need 2 be greased.... the dealer has also closed since i got it so i cant ask them about it . it is a awesome wheeler and i think it has about 2500 miles on it now lol it only had 500 when i got it last year this time

Go to nyrocatv.com. click up top on the tech tips and then scroll down and select kingquad.Go through the tech tips, I think there are 3 pages of them, there will be tips for changing belts and clutch weights, and all kinds of stuff. There are pictures and videos of clutch and clutch removal as well as spring changes and roller changes! Let us know how you make out or shoot me a p.m. Good luck
