Default 1986 LT230S Chain tensioner

Alright thanks. I got another question. i have been talking with this guy on craigslist about his powder coated lt 230 frame and he wants $200 for it. Do you think its too much? the only reason i ask is becuz i was hit by a drunk driver bout 3 weeks ago and it ripped the swing arm off the frame. i got all the parts i need except the frame.

if it's really powdwercoated and not just painted w/ a spraycan, it's prolly worth it.

I had the same problem with my 89 250S which is basicly the same thing, for me it was the swingarm bearings that were gone, this caused the arm atriculate making the sprocket closer and father apart

UPDATE: thanks guys! the swingarm bushings/bearings are toasted too. Imagine that!! HA, so how much should i expect to pay for the kit?

Also, do you know what size socket i need to remove the nut that holds the wheel hub on? its bigger than 27mm, and thats all i have, so, I need to buy that specific socket. My Clymer doesn't tell me. (and just for laughs, on the left side, the person that had the bike b4 me used a nail instead of a cotter pin! hahahaha, i like to died when i saw that!)

Still workin on it, but i am stopped now because of the socket thing, its ***** tight and i can't get it off w/o air.

That chain tensioner is really sick! I am definitely going to look into getting one! Thanks @MalHombre!

Default chain tension

All jwilliamson,
All ***** Racing makes a great set. you can find them on ebay. they usaully run about $30-$40 depending on who you buy them from. not sure on the exact socket size. i used a 1 1/8th in socket and it worked on mine. i am currently in another 230 rebuild thanks to a drunk driver. i will double check tomorrow.

It was a 30 mm socket. Thanks @trailrider230s, the 1 1/8th was too big though.

Got the bearings replaced in the rear, but the swingarm bearings/bushings are definitely bad. That was a bigger problem than the rear axel bearings. They are on order. Hopefully this will be the last of the spending until i buy paint for the fenders.
