Default Cluch problems on my 07 450 king quad

I would like to know if anyone else has had a problem with the clutches on an 07 450 king quad. The problem I am having is when you go to take off the machine does not want to go and then it lungest forward when the clutches do engage so hard and fast that it almost rips the handle bars out of your hands. I have had both clutches and belt replaced by the dealer twice. It has only 200 miles on it since they were last replaced and now it is doing it again. Would like to know it anyone has had this same problem and if so how did you fix it or can it be fixed.

Did you buy the quad new?? Are there any clutch mods done to it?? Sometimes different springs will affect engagement from a dead stop(stall). Then again i'm sure your service dept. would have picked up on this. I also think that the clutch rollers could have some effect as well, but, how much I am not sure of. If it has an aftermarket spring on it, the spring could have been shimmed and this may also effect it. Both mine are all stock in the cvt and I have had no issues. Good luck!

Default Thanks

Thanks for the information. Everything on the unit is stock. I am starting to think that the mechanics at the dealership don't know what they are doing. Again thanks for your time stillV1 and ride safe.

Then I would take it to the shop that is doing your work and show them first hand what it is doing, that way they know exactly what you are speaking of. I definetly would make them fix the problem! Hope you get it fixed...Good Luck.

Default clutch problems

I have a 2007 450 king quad, and have had the same problems while under warranty. The Suzuki dealer said it was an adjustment but it still does it after their so called adjustment. I am looking for a fix so I can continue to enjoy the bike. I called Suzuki warranty central office and they said it was my problem and there was nothing out for the problem because there were no other complaints. The dealer in my area has since went out of buisness, so I'm looking for some help in this area. I am a mechanic and I have looked at the problem. The rear clutch grabs and holds the belt in the position where the rear tires stop moving and the front clutch comes in so hard to grab the belt that it makes the bike jerk. I have since bought a CAN AM and love the power but its not as nice as the king quad. But because of the service that Suzuki has given I would never buy or recommend one to anyone. I am very disapointed in Suzuki for not wanting to help with the very obvious problem with their bike.
