My LT230 GE Quad is extremely hard to start when temps are below 50 degrees F. Winter starting, I need starting fluid to get it to fire. Once it is warm it runs OK. Any help would be of great appreciated!

 

hello i currently own i an 85 230 quadrunner and mine was hard starting also, i simply adjusted the valves and overhauled the carb, it cost me 20.00. if you think it may be fuel related install a clear section of fuel line somewhere in the fuel inlet if its not getting fuel, dont buy a new fuel pump or used or a rebuild kit they are all too expensive they are made by mikuni get a new one from these guys 20 bucks www.jcspecialty.net its the same unit,i raced karts for years these guys are great

 

Thanks. At least I have a place to start with. As far as the valve adjustment, I'm not sure on the specs or procedure (no longer have manual). Any tips would be great.
