Why would it sputter real bad when the diff lock is on when try to go faster than crawl? My buddy has the same atv but a year newer and it does the same thing.

 

4WD diff lock rev limiter... King's have them. There are a couple ways to bypass the limiter.

Why do they put limitors on the diff. lock?

 

I would think for two reasons... first one being safety. A non EPS machine is difficult to steer in diff lock. Driving one at increased speeds could be considered a safety issue.

The second would be wear and tear on the components. That difficult steering in diff lock is because everything is "locked" up pretty tight. Again, driving it at increased speeds could "break" stuff. Even the guys that do the bypass mod recommend using common sense with the mod.
