z400 drive chain change?

no fun putting those o-ring chain master links on....that's for sure. I don't exactly remember how I did it on the last one but it was something like what you descibed.

OK, it's confirmed...........I am an idiot. You can't get the chain off without cutting it.

there is no such thing as a half link for this size chain . some thing i did do is to make the slots on the swing arm longer , surprising how much more you can get by doing this.

WHY wouldnt you just buy a new chain It might cost a little bit now BUT save you alot of money in the long run. (if it breaks your case) I have seen a couple cases broke from the cain breaking. Making the slots longer If its that loose then the chain is wore out. My $.02 which dont mean much.

no ,not wore out ,its just that i may change sprockets for different conditions , 14 40 for big duning and 15 36-38 for drag racing and i need more adjustment to take up the slack

That makes sense That is alot easier than taking or adding a link everytime
