I am in the need to change two boots on my front axle. one inner and one outer os separate sides. i have removed everything except the cv shaft. My problem is that i cant figure out how the shaft comes apart. i know theres a clip on the inner shaft but its inside the diff case. Can anybody shed some light on this subject. Just a little bit of info will go a long way on this problem. My bike is a 2000 if it means anything.

 

On most quads to release the shaft you just press the shaft in (towards the center of the quad) then quickly give a firm tug outward and it should come out.
Pressing in is supposed to compress the clip, and the swift pull out should allow it to come out for maintenance.
