Having problems. I cleaned the carb on the z400 cleaned it. I'm getting spark, and I'm getting fuel (the bowl fills up), but it still won't start.
I came across a comment in another thread while searching about going to a hotter plug. When at the auto parts store the other day they didn't have the NGK CR7E so I bought a CR8E, which I believe is cooler, instead. Could that be my problem?

 

if your plug was bad that can keep it from starting ,but being one size colder no .

there are many things that can keep if from fireing up , valve lash ,pluged carb,wire off,no gas, ect. ect.

 

He's right.....I'd probably check the valves first. Try pull starting it. If that works it is just about sure to be your intake valves need to be adjusted or replaced.

So maybe leave it in 2nd, or do it in first, and if it fires up, intake valves are likely to be the problem.
