Buying Ltz 400 Clutch question?
#1
I looked at a machine tonight here and was just wondering where in releasing the clutch should it start to grab. Seems this unit was smooth but had all it grab in the last inch of release.
Im dont know Suzuki's well.
Any ideas?
Thanks

The point at which the clutch engages is mostly determined in the cable adjustment.I'd check that first;make sure there's still room to adjust the cable more later on.There's an adjuster near the clutch lever;like a **** you should be able to turn with your fingers.Hope this helps

Some say this is the way it should be. We have an '04 (wife's) and my '05. Mine works pretty much all the way through and her's is just like you described. I installed a new clutch cuz of some other issues and it still grabs in the same place. Been that way for two years now. No issue once you get use to it. I'm sure there is a way to adjust it.......I just don't know it. If I rode her quad more then loading and unloading I might have to figure it out. She likes it like that.

There should only be a little play in the clutch lever, and usually there should be evidence of the clutch starting to disengage after just a short bit of lever travel. Like has been mentioned, the likely thing is the cable needs to be adjusted. I can see how someone with smaller hands might like it to disengage closer to the bar, but it isn't right. I would look to fix that issue and then get her easy pull clutch lever
