Default Help with 84 250 quad runner

Hey everyone, thanks for looking and helping

here is the issue

I have a 84 250 quad runner, bought it years ago to help around the farm, hunting and trapping.

I have been fouling spark plugs really bad, like in an hour of using the thing. I check out the choke cable and it was fried, so I cut it off and " rigged" up a system so it is workable again.

What happens is that when its hot out I'll run it for a while and then it dies out and won't start. If you let it cool down it will start again.

There is very little gas in the new see through filter I installed last year, however when you pull the plug it is black with soot/carbon build up. Clean it off , or put in a new plug and it will start.

The head has a slight oil leak on the outside around the compression release.

I am mechanically inclined as I raced motocross for many years , so I know how to work on the thing.

Don't want to spend any money on a newer one as I take this one through brush and stuff and its not very nice looking, and hate throwing something away that could be useful

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED

The oil in the head is fouling out your spark plugs. Try replacing the valve stem seals or adjusting the valves.
