Just picked up a lt250r roller, found a engine for it with a burnt piston, the guy said it was a 1988 engine, it has #s on the left case. j109-101966 cant match them anywhere. are the 87 pistons different than the 88-92? need to find out what year it is so i can get a piston and get it going. any help will be great. oh yeah, it has a five bolt reed cage. from what i look up all over the place because i build 85 and 86 lt250rs and the pistons for 87 and up arnt different and is ur cylinder walls scratched up?

 

cylinder is ok, a little honing and it will be good as new. thanks for the info.

 

ok no promblem u could also bore it out and just get a new piston for it they will give u the size
