ya these don't have timing on them like he said there just lining everything up right and for the handling
you can keep stock shocks i race with them and have the works shocks for spares when they give out the stocks were set up for this quad to race on make sure there in really good condition things you could do is ....
steering stabilizer
tires
control arms
brakes
clutch
axle
handle bars
throttle
AND FOR THE MOTOR WISE
new carb
air filter
piston and rings
sprocket gears
clutch
throttle
all new bearings
aftermarket cdi box
and there's some more but this is within a budget
and just a FYI don't ever use the wheel spacers they do widen it but after a ruff ride they start to bend your studs and if you don't have good rims they will bend the hols for the studs

Ok i like the upgrades, you can get them one by one but where are you finding these parts for an LT250R? They seem to be for the new ones. And also about getting everything lined up, you do realize i took gears off and twisted everything after that. So markings on the gears wont help so than what?

ill have to get some of the stores online i have an account with and ill let you know the websites unfortunately almost all the aftermarket stuff you have to order off line local stores don't carry them and some of the things from the newer ones will fit the 85 86 one defiantly thing you should look into doing is switching the 85-86 swing arm to the 87 swing arm. and what do you mean by twisted everything? the markings on the gears should line up no matter what you do

you shouldnt have sheared a key. and yes you can just switch swingarms it has to be an 87 swingarm i have the 87 for a spare i run a lone star on mine now but the 87 is a good budget switch over no mods required

Default QuadRacer 250R exhaust

Does anyone know what the quietest aftermarket exhaust would be for my '91. How can I find the decibels?

In the other post you said you knew what you were doing, what happened? Boy I bet a manuel would have helped.

Ya i thought i did to, man, had it running strong today, so much fun, even idled. I was getting ready to think about all of these upgrades. But it once again decided to give me another problem, it revs up from time to time while in gear and i think the carb is clogged again, would that cause random revs? Why, but by the way this is the third problem, i have fixed the reed valves by replacing, and it ran well for a day, than i replaced the oil seals on the wet side, put it back together wrong so took it apart again and it ran for awhile. Now once again it is giving me problems, each time i clean my carb it gets better but in the end quits running well. I cleaned the gas tank, should i install a fuel filter i think my carb keeps getting clogged. What fuel filter would not restrict fuel flow?

ok i must add i didnt mean for this thread to be a troubleshooting one, but im beyond frustrated right about now. Had this thing idling, awesome! Than one short run through all the gears no more idle. So i leaned the carb which seemed clean anyways and it looks brand new now, put back together and adjusted everything to factory settings considering everything is stock. And now won't really even run. Im completely lost i have checked for air leaks and carb looks new and fuel mix is 32:1 but seems to run rich if i have any info for you all. Spark plug is usually wet when i take it out. HELP! please
