Default 07 king quad 450

Hey All,

Just recently bought a 07 king quad, it is my first quad and it is awesome!! I am having a small issue though and would like some advicve possibly.

When I go from nuetral to high gear, it won't "catch" seems that the transmission is slipping, however if I go into Low or reverse first, then High gear it is OK.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Oh yeah, the bike is revving a little hihg so I am going to get a oil change/sark plug change, do you think that alone may cause the problem?

Default Problem solved

So I took my king quad in for a tune-up after a friend suggested it may be the choke stuck thus idling to high. I guess this makes the belt not engage properly and "grind". Since I needed an oil change before winter (gonna be plowing snow with it thru the winter) got the choke adjusted and now running smoothly!!

Thought I would let people know the answer to my problem!!

I thought the first 450 KQ that came out in 2007 was and still is Fuel injected. http://www.powersportsnetwork.com/en...icleCode=41539

It is fuel injected.

The choke is for cold starts. Never really used it yet, and the previous owner said he never used it much either.

Yep, the 450's has that "cold start choke".

Also cdnATV99. If you have idle issues other than the choke sticking, make sure of the following...

Learn how to adjust the throttle cable to specs. (easy to do)
Learn how to adjust the TPS. (A little more difficult, but not bad)

By doing so, your King will start better, idle better, and run better.
