lt80 trouble

Question lt80 trouble

hey guy's
i got an 01 lt80 i just rebuilt the carb. with carbon reeds. put new fuel petcock on last week when i did the carb. fmf pipe, put new piston and ring's in it last year. bike ran good for a month then but stopped running been sitting for a year so i did the carb. and new plug. i have 20lbs of compression when turning motor over .. i dont think the plug is getting wet with fuel . we have put gas in head put plug back in and nothing...
any good idea's where to go from here??????????

Tell me it's 120 not 20 for compression.
Some times you have to hand choke them.
So it ran for a month after the rebuild then just quit?

yes sir . it ran like a champ then one day it just stopped.
i should have 12o lbs of compression in it ??? i will have to go back and check it again.. to make sure on that.. i did get it to fire one time with starting fluid once that burned off it was over.. nothing sent's then... could i have broken a ring????

If your comp reading is close to correct, I think you fried a piston.

i did have fuel in the crank case. when we had the carb off we dumped it all out i do think.

where did you find carbon fiber reeds for an lt80? i might be interested in picking some up
LT80 is right about the compression though, it usually takes around 90psi to fire a motor, you may have a hole in the top of the piston if your compression is only 20. gl

mid west mini's i think it was .... like 20-30 buck's got them last year..

are they black carbon fiber or the white composite ones made by boysen?
