I am taking my motor out of the frame to replace new head studs and when i removed the gas tank i found a black long cylinder shaped thing that says Answer Boost Boost on it. Well i realize it has something to do with the ignition timing but i am not sure what changes it is making to my system and couldnt find any info on it. The quad was used for flat track racing before i got it. Any info on it would be appreciated. Thanks

My '87 had that Answer Roost Boost on it as well, and I couldn't find any info on it.

 

The Roost Boost was a heavily advertised aftermarket item about 6-9 years ago. I believe it was supposed to increase the fire power of the spark plug. Apparrently though, it didn't do anything too impressive since I haven't heard about them for a number of years.
