Default 86 230lt shaft drive rescue

Ok here is the story. 10 years ago my dad bought a 1986 LT shaft drive to pull deer out of the woods in Northern MN.

I loved that little thing drove it all the time when I was at my cabin. I seemed to be the only one that got it running and took it out.

My dad pasted away and the 4 wheeler sat uncovered through the harsh season of MN, at least 4 years.

Well I moved to Colorado, and in the process of packing all my belongings from MN I inherited the 230 LT.

It has since sat in my garage for about a 1 and half, the other night after watching fast and furious (it was the only thing on Starz) I got the wrenching bug. So I went to my garage looked at my jeep and said hmmm I need serious money to do more to her.

And over in the corner I heard this small wimper, I looked over and there all beat up and un-plasticed was the 230 LT. I wasn’t sure if it would even run. But after I hooked up my jeep battery and sprayed some gas in the carb it fired up for about 15 seconds.

It needs a lot and I mean A LOT of love. And I don’t know much about wheelers, but I’m taking it on. I will post pics in about 2 hours.

What I’m really confused about is the fuel pump and that carburetor. Does anyone have pics of what and where the hoses go.

Example the fuel pump has a hose in the middle of it that goes somewhere but where. And the carburetor has I think three spots for hoses. The fuel line and a drain hose and a vent. Any help with this would be great.

Fuel pump? You talkin about the selector switch coming off the tank? If so then that is your petcock. That hose goes to the side of ur carb, the other 2 vents just need ran to the back of the engine toward the ground

Oh, hmmm dont know what that is. Do you have any loose vacuum hoses? I know on some petcocks thay have a vaccumm inlet and will only let fuel flow when vacuum is present. You can prob jyst bypass that and plug the vac lined
