lt250r Transmission Assembly??
#1
I split my crank case to replace oil seals, realized once I got in there my second drive gear needed replacing. Happens I pulled off this side to have the chain guard threads plug welded, which enabled me to easily pull off the second drive gear without disturbing the assembly. However since the drive gear was chunked up I want to replace the second DRIVEN gear as well because I already have a spare. The thing is you can not just swap it out from this side like the drive gear because the drive shaft has a shoulder or what appears to be a thick washer welded between the driven gear and case bearing. SO I don't want to disturb this assembly to get at it I'm a bit intimidated, possibly I could replace the case half and flip the engine over to take the other side off. I just don't want to screw up the shifting forks and have 1st be 3rd or something after it is put back together, but if this isint THAT hard I would love to use another case half I have instead. Advice please?

I sat down with a nice cold beer and a Clymer, some Pink Floyd and a.....
Point is if you spend a whole afternoon reading and studying a Clymer, playing with the assembly you will realize it really is not that complicated at all. I think after this I will be able to do other jobs since the transmission assemblies are similar in most engines.
