If a search of the forum does not turn up any help, google "chain adjustment on Suzuki Z400" , one of the top results is from suzukicentral.com, there is a post there that lists all the tools needed, with a couple of pictures showing which bolts to wrench on. Take your time, it is easy to get the axle cocked at an angle if you adjust too much at a time.

Two bolts are like impossible to get off! Should I Jack up the rear? Are they just tough?

i would rather you left it on the grund when first backing the bolts out and its best if it were on the ground to torque it tight
