Hi Knust,

I know it has been a long time, but with Christmas holidays and being in the bush for a while. I never got a chance to reply.

I purchased a new battery as you suggested and it sorted the problem out.

Thank you very much for you input.

Bring a Voltmeter with you. Some atvs can run fine even with a dead battery, mine does, my Yamaha could even run with the battery removed, but there are some that can,t run either way. Go figure.

If your new batter starts it up and keeps it running which it should since its just taking your trucks job. Put at voltmeter on the battery and if it reads 13-14 v while idling then the charging system on the atv is working.

After 4 years your on bowwowed time with ATV batteries, they do not last like a car,s.

when u get a new bat in, and start it up. it should stay running.. take a volt meter and check to see if it charging at the battery if no check with a volt meter at ur stator wires to see ir ur getting volatge from there it is going to read high if it is putting out a charge.. if no volt from stater change ur stator.. it might be the voltage reg that might have gone as well.. oh ya be sure if ur boosting make sure it not a 6 volt system if u boost from 12 volt u will blow the voltage reg and possaable the stator too hope u get it going.....
